In collaboration with CABEÇA DA CABRA GUESTHOUSE & VICTORIA LARNACH - dive into a unique Indigo art workshop in Alentejo, the garden of Portugal. Enjoy a weekend of bliss at our tranquil accommodation - slow down with daily tie dye classes, yoga & meditation sessios held by LAUREN, healthy food by Maria our host, and not fogetting a free INDIGO SARONG.
Focus of this workhop is the creation of your very own indigo and shibori designed sarong piece, but also to leave with valuable information about creating and living more sustainabl! Our session will begin with Victoria sharing her story of working within the fashion industry and moving towards a more sustainable approach to fashion through natural plant dyes and textiles. You will learn a brief history of the incredible indigo plant, a bit of cultural history, and creating a beautiful hand designed shibori sarong in our chemical-free indigo vat.
Participants will learn how to use this organic fructose indigo vat to achieve different shades of blue, and will leave with an understanding of indigo dyeing and sustainability of their clothing choices. This workshop uses an all-natural dyeing process.
Indigo
Indigo is one of the oldest natural plant dyes in the world which has an alchemy, history, and creative process especially unique to this 'queen plant'.
Location
Located on the spectacular Costa Vincentina of Portugal, the house is just a 5 minute ride to the beautiful beaches of Porto Covo and in easy reach of other nearby surf breaks. Enjoy daily surfing sessions with your guide and coach, yoga and meditation classes with Lauren, nourishing organic healthy meals and a relaxing environment.

About the teacher:
Victoria’s art and designs are focused on sustainable natural colours and techniques through the dynamic elements of nature. Each piece created reflects our connection to Earth, our relationships to culture and the world around us. She is dedicated to inspiring others to live from their creative self-expression with freedom to BE. She is a mural artist, painter, and plant dyer who holds workshops for Natural Indigo Dyeing around the globe.
